The regions, and what travel costs
Where we work, drawn rather than claimed
The truck runs from Penrith and works across all of Sydney. Below is the way Sydney is usually carved up, drawn as a diagram, using the region names the trade and the directories use rather than ones we made up. It carries no distances and no drive times, because we have not measured any and we are not going to invent them.
The nine regions
- Western Sydney
- Hills District
- South West Sydney
- Macarthur
- Sutherland Shire and St George
- Inner West
- Eastern Suburbs
- North Shore
- Northern Beaches
The truck runs from Penrith and works across all of Sydney. One hundred metres of hose means most of the job is reachable without moving the vehicle.
Every region has a page, and each one is different
A region page is only worth reading when it can tell you something that is true of that place and false of the next one. The council whose stormwater rules apply. The housing the work is done on. The weather that grows the lichen on one wall and not the other.
Each region page carries that, with the council, Census and weather sources linked and dated. Some regions also have suburb pages beneath them, where we could say something specific about one place. Nine near identical pages with a place name swapped through them would be easy to write and worth nothing to you.
What does not change with the postcode
The price
One rate card for all of Sydney. Every figure includes GST and is stated once.
The method
Hot water and chemicals on the truck, soft wash on roofs, wash water captured rather than sent to the drain.
The refusals
No cement sheet at any pressure, no high pressure on tile, no cosmetic hosing of a driveway.
About the areas
Do you charge more for the far side of Sydney?
The package prices are the same wherever the job is. The one travel line we publish is a flat addition for work a long way out from the base, and it is on the rate card rather than sprung on you at the end.
What is on a region page?
Only what is true of that region and not the next one: the councils and the stormwater guidance each publishes, the housing from the 2021 Census, and the local weather where a station could be read. Every figure is linked to its source and dated. A page that repeats the same paragraph with a different place name in it would be worse than no page.
Is the map exact?
No, and it is not meant to be. It is a drawing of how Sydney is usually carved up, so you can find your part of it quickly. There are no distances or drive times on this site because we have not measured any.
What decides whether a job is worth the trip?
The size of it. There is a minimum for an attended job of $249 including GST, which is the same figure everywhere, and most jobs are comfortably past it.
Send the address and the surface
A postcode, what needs cleaning and a couple of photos is enough to price most work, wherever in Sydney it is.
