Pressure cleaning in Campbelltown

Pressure cleaning in Campbelltown is mostly houses and townhouses, with apartments around the centre. We wash houses, clean roofs and gutters, and do driveways and paving, and we follow the roof cleaning method Campbelltown City Council itself publishes: downpipes blocked, drains bunded, wash water pumped out and kept from the Georges River.

The detail below comes from the Census, Campbelltown City Council and Asbestos NSW, each linked at the end.

What is different about a Campbelltown job

A centre with apartments, a city of houses

At the 2021 Census, the suburb of Campbelltown had 6,303 occupied private dwellings. Separate houses were 51.1 per cent, semi detached and townhouses 13.8 per cent, and flats or apartments 34.9 per cent.

Across the Campbelltown local government area, separate houses were 78.3 per cent of 57,368 occupied dwellings and flats only 6.4 per cent, against 65.6 and 21.7 per cent for New South Wales. Townhouses and semi detached homes were 15.2 per cent, above the state's 11.7.

Council has written the roof cleaning method down

Campbelltown City Council's stormwater page says stormwater generally cannot be treated, and that pollutants from roofs, gutters, downpipes, gardens, driveways and roads end up in creeks, rivers and the ocean.

It goes further than most councils and describes the method for roof cleaning. Block the downpipe where cleaning if it cannot be disconnected. Protect stormwater drains with sandbags or a portable bund in the roadside gutter. Remove the captured wastewater with a vacuum or bilge pump and direct it to lawns or gardens, not the drain.

It also says that allowing polluted wastewater into stormwater drains, roadside gutters or waterways is an offence and may attract fines or prosecution. That is the method we work to on a Campbelltown roof, written by the council that would enforce it.

Most of the city drains to the Georges

Council says most of the local government area drains into the Georges River catchment, and a smaller area drains into the Nepean River catchment. It names O'Hares Creek among the area's waterways.

So a driveway in most of Campbelltown is upstream of the Georges River, the same river Liverpool City Council and the City of Canterbury Bankstown name further downstream.

Planned for growth from 1960, and the asbestos question

Council's own history records that in 1960 the state government announced Campbelltown would become a satellite town.

Asbestos NSW estimates that one home in three built or renovated in New South Wales between 1945 and 1990 contains asbestos, most often in corrugated roofing and cement sheeting. We do not have the build year of every street, so we look at the sheet in front of us, and if it might be fibro we stop and say so.

Houses carry most of the work here, so the house wash, the gutters, the two together, and a metal roof soft wash are the lines that come up first.

The council guidance we read before a Campbelltown job

The council for Campbelltown is Campbelltown City Council. The state rule underneath every council is the same: wash water must not enter the stormwater system. The council page is where the local detail lives, and it is the one we check for the address.

Asked about Campbelltown

What does Campbelltown council say about cleaning a roof?

Block the downpipe if it cannot be disconnected, protect drains with sandbags or a portable bund, and pump the captured water out to a lawn or garden rather than the drain. Letting polluted wastewater into a drain or gutter is an offence.

Where does stormwater go in Campbelltown?

Council says most of the area drains to the Georges River catchment and a smaller part to the Nepean River catchment.

My eaves look like fibro. Will you wash them?

No. If a sheet might contain asbestos we do not wash it at any pressure, and we tell you so it can be assessed.

Is Campbelltown priced differently?

No. The rate card is the same across Sydney. Its one travel line is published on the prices page and written on your quote if it applies.

Where the local detail came from

Every local figure and rule on this page is somebody else's published work, and here it is. Each link was opened and returned a page on the date shown. If one of them changes, this page is wrong and we would rather you could check.

That is enough to price most Campbelltown work. The truck runs from Penrith, and you get the surfaces, what is included, what is not, and one figure including GST.
